The following calculator can determine the pace of segments of a run (or other activity) for those with access to the time at intermittent points during the run. For example, the time 5 minutes 3 seconds does not need to be entered as 00:05:03, and can be entered as 5:3. Turn 3, got the perfect draw.Note that placeholder zeros do not need to be entered in the "Time" or "Pace" field. Turn 2 I completed a 3 credit mission and bought al-Wren. How did I do this on turn 3? Turn one I went last, accompanied both others for money only and got + 3 coins, on my turn got 2 coins from a cheap mission. 3 VP.įlip over objective: complete rescue contract solo. Play my 2 reactors, play Ryle to reduce shield requirements by 2, play B3-AR to get Ryle back, play Ryle to negate the hazard I rolled. Have 2 reactors in hand and those two crew members. Have crew member that allows me to bring back a crew member from discard or play area to hand (B3-AR) Have crew member that allows me to reduce shield requirement by 2 or reduce the number of hazard targeting me by 2 (Ryle Al wren) Have ship part that allows me to roll one fewer hazard die (clocking device) Mission for 3VP required 3 crew members and 2 shields (hostage extraction) Had a sick 4 VP turn on turn 3 last week on this game: Every turn we have to stop and ask, did you want to follow? Did you finish your bonus? Did you more your boat yet (and can I start my turn)? Without that constant little hitch Boonlake would also be a fairly pacey game (or it is fairly breezy but doesn't feel that way b/c of that). It's directly because of the active player needing to move their boat after the follow mechanism window. In a bizarre contrast, the flow in Boonlake feels really stop-start bumpy even though you are always busy on even when it's not your turn b/c of the follow mechanism. Oddly enough, it's the only game where my partner and I have ever naturally just started narrating our turns aloud and it adds a sort of rhythminc back and forth to the experience, "I go here, take two coins, move my train, your turn" - "I stop here, sell a cow for $2, buy this one for $6, your turn". I think it works like this because the main decisions/calculations are where to go (and which workers, cows, buildings to pickup/build) but you're mostly only deciding between a small selection of just a few options and you can do most all of that thinking before your turn comes and then on your turn all the actual actions you take are very simple and quick and don't require any processing or calculation (other than making change). I hadn't thought about it before but you're right GWT is fairly speedy. r/tabletopgamedesign - Designer's subreddit.r/boardgameexchange - selling/buying/trading games.
