Michael Peele has been an IT manager for more than 11 years, with a current day-job at Georgetown University, in Washington, DC. Within moments, I was greeted with Windows Update updating. Here’s the IP addresses that I added to PeerGuardian2 to allow so that TZO and updates would work. I never noticed the TZO problem, probably because my cable company hasn’t changed my IP address. Savvis is actually TZO, who facilitates the *. dynamic DNS that the HP WHS uses.Īnd, Microsoft uses servers hosted by Limelight Networks for Windows Update. Well, after a little digging, I figured it out. It was blocking a LOT of outgoing requests to Savvis and to Limelight Networks, LLC. It has access to an online blocklist database which is. Then I decided to check my PeerGuardian2 log. PeerGuardian is basically a firewall utility and is especially effective in protecting you when you use peer to peer connections. At first, I figured maybe that the update server was busy. The console would be unresponsive for several minutes, then provide me with a useless error message. I'm also on windows vista.I tried for over a day to get Power Pack 3 via Microsoft Windows Update. is it im having real bad luck with my last 7 or 8 movie files im getting or is the port checker right and somethings wrong? I use windows firewall, peerguardian, and superantispyware all allow utorrent. wtf? I have a green light in the program but its closed? how is this possible? i normally download a 700mb movie in about a half hour but now it takes me like 2 hours.I looked at the speed post and tried to download one of those files and sure as shit it was downloading fast as hell but not my movies. Now a couple of days ago i noticed my speeds were slow as hell but still had a green light so thought it was the swarm, but then i used the port checker and it tells me my port is closed. I had the green light and when i check the port using the checker it was opened as well. I have done the port forwarding and setting up my static ip address with no prob. I'm not new by any means to downloading torrents, been doing this for awhile but recently got a laptop and hooked it through a netgear router.
